Central Visual and Performing Arts High School Presents "Hall of Fame"

Let's celebrate a year of hard work with a full-out CVPA production of Hall Of Fame! Our students performed all the instruments and vocals in this music video. Song written by The Script. Originally created to celebrate the graduating class of 2021.

We hope everyone has a great and relaxing summer!

Student Council made these wonderful cards for the CVPA family. We hope everyone has a wonderful Winter Break!

Announcing BREATHE

We're excited to announce BREATHE - a fine arts virtual presentation. It will be premiered on Facebook and here on BRAID (cvpabraid.blogspot.com), November 20th @ 5pm.

Our students have been very hard at work (as you know!). The theme of this show is taking that moment to find your light during these challenging times. We hope to give you something wonderful to share during Thanksgiving festivities.

The Power Of Being Seen Interactive Concert

On October 17th of last year, we had an outdoor concert with the theme of "The Power Of Being Seen."

"Being Seen" is all about noticing individuals for who they are, recognizing names instead of numbers, and caring for one other. The strength of our community grows when we recognize each other as human beings.
"‘I see you’ means that you are important; you are worthy; and you are needed in the world!”

Concert in full:

A Taste Of Central VPA

Sometimes, it's interesting to see short clips from across a spectrum for one thing. That's pretty much what this is, a glimpse at several performances from throughout the last few years at CVPA.

It's good to reflect. Ask yourself, 'Where am I today? Where was I yesterday? Where do I want to be tomorrow?'

CVPA Virtual Concert Band - Arabian Dances by Roland Barrett

CVPA's Concert Band has been hard at work to [virtually] come together to create this truly special video. It is Arabian Dances by Roland Barrett. Huge shout out to Band Director, Mr. Shrum, for spending much extra time behind the scenes to sync each video into this one big one.

Band students, you have a LOT to be proud of today. You're making art happen, regardless of the circumstances.

Well done!

Title: Crescents and Flowers

"This portrait was made for Matti Harrington, a TikTok creator I admire. I look up to her for her positive energy and hope I was able to show that in this piece." - Destinee

Early World History in the Americas

World History students studied the Cahokian civilization while atop Monk's Mound. They learned about hierarchy in early American civilizations, cultures and customs, and how social changes occurred. Believe it or not, the Cahokia Mounds site used to be covered in structures and homes.

CVPA's Virtual Open House

We look forward to meeting every student and parent in person. Until that day comes, we're cooking up ways to make the most out of virtual learning. We hope you have a fantastic school year!

Creating Something New

BRAID is one way that Central VPA is showing that the art won't stop for any reason. We may be virtual, but we're virtu-REAL.

So what does "BRAID" mean? It means we're threading together all of our online art showcases into this website. Want to find our Instagram? Stop by BRAID. See the new TikTok? Check it out right here. BRAID weaves together every fine art major at Central VPA, because we are family and we support one another.

We're going to make this year excellent!
